Please tell us about your role in JDT China.
I engage in the development of laminated fabrics mainly for outdoor wear and sportswear. One of my main tasks is the management of processes related to the mass production system. Specifically, I procure raw materials, conduct tests, and set processing conditions to meet customers’ needs. By taking into account the processing method and production processes, I set up the overall production process. As the Deputy Manager of the Technical Department, I am responsible for a variety of tasks such as interacting with each department, managing suppliers and raw materials, communicating with customers, and responding to audits. I also put a lot of effort into the development of human resources in the same department. By trying to be a good example for others, I work together with my team to contribute to the growth of the company.
At work or in the company, what would you like to challenge and achieve in the future?
As for future challenges, I would like to work together with my team on technical challenges and find solutions one by one, with the aim of developing new materials that will be needed in the future, such as environmentally friendly polyurethane films. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is being able to witness the entire process of a product from its development at the initial concept stage to product delivery to ordinary consumers. Seeing these processes gives me a sense of accomplishment. As relates to the market, customer needs are constantly changing, and the pace of change has even accelerated in recent years. In such a challenging situation, it is an important part of my role to increase the level of motivation and maintain the passion of the development team. As a member responsible for development, I want to enjoy the challenges and grow together with my team!
What are your challenges outside of work? What do you like to do? Any hobbies?
I want to arrange an opportunity to go to Huangshan with my wife. I have been to Huangshan before on a recreational trip organized by the company. The scenery from the mountain I climbed that time was really beautiful and I was deeply moved. On my next visit, I would be happy if my wife and I could enjoy the same scenery and be moved by it together. Another thing is to participate in walking events held by the club formed by company members. Unfortunately, I twisted my ankle and was unable to participate in the previous event. These walking events are held for the purpose of walking in nature, refreshing ourselves and becoming health conscious, and employees and their families are free to participate. These are not events sponsored by the company, but gatherings of a group of interested people. Walking events are held in the spring and fall. The club recently started up, and I am looking forward to these activities to expand in the future. I plan to watch my physical condition so that I can join the next event.
Please tell us what JDT China means to you.
JDT China is a place where dreams grow, and it is like my second home. More than just a place to do business, it is a place that gives us the power to move into the future with colleagues who share the same goals. There are rules in the company, but the atmosphere is not bound by these rules but allows everyone to freely express their opinions and ideas to do a better job. The management also carefully listens to these opinions and ideas, so I feel that this is a workplace where I can have my own ideas and take on challenges. Sometimes my opinions and ideas about how to do things may clash with other colleagues’ opinions and ideas, but by the next day we can all work together towards the same goal. This is the reason I love the atmosphere of this company.
Comparing before and after you joined the company, what has changed?
JDT China is the first company that I have worked for. I knew nothing about the garment industry before I joined the company, but after receiving in-company technical training and learning about management, my views and perspective have broadened. I can gain many opportunities, such as listening to the experiences of my seniors and attending external workshops. I feel that there is an environment where I can absorb new things and grow every day. Sometimes I have faced difficulties, but I have overcome them each time, improving my technical skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the company’s culture and values. As we continue to grow, I believe that JDT China will build an even greater future.
