Tran Nam Hoang

Please tell us about your role in JDT Vietnam.

JDT Vietnam’s production is broadly divided into two processes, one is laminating where we make films, and the other is bonding where we bond the films to the fabrics. These two processes result in highly functional fabrics with excellent breathability and waterproofing. As the General Manager of the Production Department, I am involved in both processes and carry out a wide range of production management activities by monitoring each production process, such as whether production is being carried out accurately according to established procedures and whether there are any delays in any of the production processes.

At work or in the company, what would you like to challenge and achieve in the future?

I would like to learn more about fabric processing technology and be able to run production much more smoothly than I do now. I would like to learn the production management methods used by JDT China, and if there are useful cases that can also be utilized at JDT Vietnam, I would like to incorporate them. To make better products and reduce as many defects as possible, I want to clearly set quality KPIs and make efforts to achieve the corresponding targets. I also want to promote improvements in operations in the Production Department and contribute to further improvement of the company as whole.

What are your challenges outside of work? What do you like to do? Any hobbies?

I like to travel, so I want to visit places I have never been. Spending time with my friends and colleagues over dinners and drinks is also a pleasant time and allows me to really refresh myself. What I want to challenge myself in the future is... to “get rich”! I would like to work harder at JDT Vietnam and try to live a more prosperous life. I was very happy and felt rewarded when the company appreciated the value of my work, and I received a raise. I am now able to do good things for my parents who live far away. I would like to make additional efforts to continue to improve myself.

Please tell us what JDT Vietnam means to you.

JDT Vietnam is a place where I can learn production management methods. I can also gain a wide range of experiences. In my department, I work together with various people across a wide age range, from teenagers to adults in their forties, and their personalities and ways of thinking can be so different. As the General Manager of the Production Department, I feel it is my duty to listen to many people, summarize the different ideas, find the best answer as a team, and contribute to the company. The atmosphere in the workplace is upbeat, and the company has a robust system for maintaining the health and safety of its employees. For example, we can have regular health checkups and occupational safety education. I think the working environment of this company is very comfortable. Some of my superiors and management are from Japan and China and have different cultural backgrounds. But these diverse employees and management are all united and facing the same direction in running the factory, so I feel motivated myself to work hard together as a member of JDT Vietnam.

Comparing before and after you joined the company, what has changed?

Since I started working here, I have found something new every day and my life is fulfilling. I have been able to gain many different experiences at JDT Vietnam and I am growing through learning. I have built a foundation for my life thanks to a stable salary, and I enjoy working in a comfortable environment with peace of mind. I still remember when I got a job at JDT Vietnam, I was so happy and full of joy, telling my family and friends, “I got a job at the company I really wanted to work for!” My family and friends are very happy about my commitment to JDT Vietnam. They probably feel close to my growth because I talk a lot about what is happening at the company and my work. People around me always encourage me so that I can continue to contribute to the company and further develop myself.
