Please tell us about your role in the Phu Tho Factory

I am responsible for the management of cutting operations. My main job is to supervise and manage the people who work in the factory, and sometimes I am faced with a difficult situation. On days when many employees are off, productivity is affected, and it is necessary to change staffing and other arrangements. As a manager, I make sure that the work always runs smoothly. When the work is done as it should be and we have successfully achieved our goals, I feel very happy.

At work or in the company, what would you like to challenge and achieve in the future?

I want to gain more knowledge and experience in areas other than the management of cutting operations. In particular, I want to expand my knowledge of CAD, and I have been actively learning skills related to pattern making. By learning every day, I want to gain skills not only in cutting, but also in a wide range of fashion production processes.

What are your challenges outside of work? What do you like to do? Any hobbies?

I play soccer twice a week after work, on Thursdays and Saturdays. I am a member of a soccer team at MATSUOKA and a member of a local soccer team. Exercise is good for my health and makes me feel physically and mentally energetic. Also, exercise reduces work-related stress and allows me to refresh myself, and is a must in my life.

Please tell us what MATSUOKA means to you.

I can work comfortably, and it is a pleasant place to work. Most people follow instructions and do their jobs properly, so the business runs smoothly. If I have a problem that I cannot solve on my own, there is a system in place where I can report it to my supervisor without hesitation and ask for appropriate advice. If I am at a loss, I can easily talk to my colleagues and even people in other departments, and this mutual support among all team members makes me feel very secure. Also, people get on well together, whether within the department or across departments, and the atmosphere in the workplace is very good. Going out for a drink with my colleagues after work is one of my favorite things to do.

Comparing before and after you joined the company, what has changed?

I have learned to think from the other person’s point of view. When I joined the company, I was not a cutting manager, but I worked as a Supervision. At that time, when a problem arose, I used to make a quick decision without thinking it through, but I have learned that making a quick decision on my own does not necessarily lead to positive results. People around me provide me with feedback saying things like, “There are other ways to solve this problem,” and that was an opportunity to consider what I was doing. Thanks to this experience, I can make better decisions than before by thinking carefully not only from my point of view, but also from the other person’s point of view before making decisions.
