OUR BUSINESS

MATSUOKA standards adaptable to change

MATSUOKA’s business that has been
developed together with our customers

In the apparel industry which has expanded to exceed 100 trillion yen annually, we produce more than 50 million items of clothing a year and supply them around the world. What we do as the largest garment maker in Japan is to steadily implement what has been prepared elaborately. We grasp the progress status of our production bases around the world, and share it with our customers in real time. Our confidence lies in the process of “accurately advancing the basics in the correct order.” While valuing this attitude, we have covered our business from planning to delivery of products together with our customers.

Planning

Product planning

New designs for clothes are announced every year. Together with designers of apparel brands as well as with planning and development departments, we create samples in our factories. At that stage, we identify issues related to mass production and confirm the inventory status of accessory parts, and other factors. We also manage the annual production volume in a systematic manner by identifying lead times until the desired delivery date.

Material

Materials development

In cooperation with various affiliated companies according to customer needs, we provide our customers with information on new materials, advanced technologies, etc. In addition, together with textile manufacturers and fabric manufacturers, we support product development from materials development for better manufacturing, including improvements of materials of standard products that are produced throughout a year, and reviews of costs by adjusting order lots.

Sewing

Sewing

MATSUOKA, having its own factories in China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Indonesia, produces clothes making use of each of these sites’ respective characteristics. Our scale is 20 factories, including subcontract factories, and about 20,000 employees. The production status of each factory is visualized in real time, by which high-quality clothes are sewn at reasonable costs.

Logistics

Logistics

Sewing cannot be completed within a single factory. There is a need to purchase fabrics, buttons, and other materials, and send the required amounts to the garment factory in a timely way. After products clear customs, they are delivered to the designated place by the delivery date by selection of appropriate means of land-sea-and-air transportation. We provide one-stop global manufacturing know-how, including exchange of funds and handling of money orders.
